CCTV Security Systems Specialist

Site/Program: Central

Position Overview

As a member of the Information Technology team reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology, youíll monitor software-based systems having to do with all aspects of the Electronic Safety and Security system of HELP USA. Youíll collaborate with the Operations and Property Management teams to develop functional requirements and policies with Safety and Maintenance for access control and electronic surveillance systems across the permanent and transitional housing portfolios. Travel is required in the metropolitan NYC area, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating installation, operation and maintenance of access control and electronic surveillance systems across the organization.

  • Performing computer program entry as required to add CCTV cameras, access control and intrusion alarm systems as needed.

  • Performing upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality.

  • Working with Safety and Maintenance to establish, implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures for all software-based Electronic Safety and Security equipment.

  • Conducting audits and inspections of buildings and grounds to ensure equipment is sufficient and functional.

  • Working with site management to propose electronic life-safety equipment that is in alignment with budgetary and operational requirements.

  • Collaborating with third-party providers and Operations, to develop scope of work with Safety and Maintenance, manage the RFP process, and project manage the implementation of electronic safety equipment.

  • Guiding and coordinating contractors while on site.

  • Coordinating requests by external agencies for copies of electronic surveillance footage to ensure timely delivery.

  • Maintaining inventory and configuration of all video surveillance cameras and systems.

  • Providing technical training to safety and maintenance staff on the use electronic safety equipment.


  • High School Diploma/GED preferred. Associates degree or certification in a related field a plus.

  • Minimum of five years experience in a related field.

  • Experience in the implementation of access control and electronic monitoring systems required.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics and operational manuals.

  • Must be familiar with national standards, secure networks, and characteristics and limitations of video assessment systems.

  • Strong information technology skills required, including basic datacom/networking.

  • Demonstrated project management skills required.

  • Effective written and oral skills.

  • Valid US Driverís License required (Company car provided).
