Position Overview
As House Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall operations of the shelter during work shifts and other time periods when Social Service and Safety Directors are not on duty. Operational responsibility will be primarily during evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting initial intakes with new clients, including reviewing and obtaining signatures on all forms; reviewing program and client rules, rights and responsibilities with new clients; entering information into CARES case management system; and making bed assignments.
Entering progress notes into CARES case management system for all contacts with and on behalf of clients.
Maintaining a positive working relationship with all social service subcontractors at the facility.
Conducting or supervising regular inspections of the facility, including all client rooms and dorms.
Supervising the safety and incident reporting systems, working in collaboration with the Safety Supervisor to ensure the safety of all clients, and acting as a liaison with DHS security staff.
Supervising maintenance staff and ensuring that the facility is well maintained during your shifts.
Requirements
New York State Security Guard License required.
FDNY F-80 certification and F-02 required.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Significant experience working in residential facilities required.
Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to operate basic office equipment such as fax, copier, and printer required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
