Financial Analyst

Position Overview

As Financial Analyst with HELP USA, youíll report to the Chief Financial Officer and explore a range of business questions, ultimately helping the company to achieve its financial and operational goals through data and sophisticated analysis.  Youíll be able to use your analytical mindset to analyze and interpret financial data, then relate it to potential business trends and issues. And you should feel comfortable using your insights to communicate important themes and discoveries to company leadership, as well as foster relationships across the organization.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

  • Interpreting financial data to recognize changing trends, patterns, and their meaning related to key performance indicators and contracts.

  • Supporting the monthly close process, analyzing monthly/quarterly/annual financial results, and preparing variance analyses.

  • Creating and delivering key financial and operational metrics to support management and board reporting.

  • Ensuring controls are operating effectively and working with the financial team to identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and productivity of existing processes, propose improvements by developing automated accounting applications, and assist in the design to streamline day-to-day field financial operations.

  • Determining cost of operations by monitoring costs and collecting operational data.

  • Developing reports that help other departments measure performance and explain variances to expectations.

  • Guiding the cost analysis process by recommending and implementing policies and procedures.

  • Supporting development and maintenance of financial models to support effective planning, analysis, and decision making.

  • Providing support to external auditors on the annual financial audit.

  • Participating in ad-hoc accounting and finance projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelorís degree in Finance or Accounting, with MBA and/or CPA preferred, plus at least three years of relevant accounting/finance experience.

  • Experience with financial analysis, financial modeling, and GAAP accounting required with budgeting and forecasting experience a plus.

  • Excellent corporate accounting, research, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Creative thinker who is comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.

  • Excellent communication skills, with comfort working across the organization.

  • Organized and able to efficiently prioritize, multi-task, and meet time sensitive deadlines.

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
