Position Summary

As Housing Director for one of our temporary housing/shelter facilities, youíll be responsible for providing overall leadership in the area of rapid rehousing Ė facilitating the quick and successful placement of residents into permanent housing and preparing them for independent living.  Youíll handle all client counseling regarding housing and youíll coordinate with other service providers to ensure the adequate and appropriate placement of clients.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting clients in locating housing.

  • Developing and implementing training for clients on the skills needed to acquire and maintain an apartment.

  • Coordinating with other members of the social services team to better understand specific needs for each client and developing resources and methods to meet those needs.

  • Monitoring residentsí length of stay to ensure compliance with governmental regulations, funder requirements, and HELP USA policies,

  • Serving as liaison for all housing subsidy programs.

  • Ensuring timely completion of housing packages and tracking of package submission.

  • Developing new housing resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelorís degree required, or Associates Degree with relevant housing counseling experience.

  • Two years of experience in providing housing counseling and placement services for homeless populations preferred.

  • Human relationship and counseling skills.

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Valid US driverís license required.
