Director of Training and Development

HELP provides 3,500 units of permanent and transitional housing as part of its 30-year commitment to families and individuals in need of safe, stable homes.

Position Overview 

HELP USA is seeking an experienced candidate to manage its Training & Development function. As a member or the Human Resources Department, the Director of Training & Development will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and will work with senior leadership to create and implement training programs and oversee the development of long-term careers within HELP USA. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and facilitating professional development training including new hire orientation, management development, social services training, and other programs as needed.

  • Coordinating on-site, distance learning class schedules and external class attendance for participants from various sites and programs.

  • Developing online training courses and content.

  • Registering participants for various training sessions and enrolling them for online learning, as needed.

  • Updating and maintaining the learning management system for new, active, and, terminated employees, tracking and reporting training metrics, and keeping accurate records of training participation for all employees

  • Providing input into annual training strategy and planning.

  • Building effective relationships with other internal areas to support employee development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • At least five years’ experience in a comparable role required.

  • Experience developing, delivering and sourcing a range of program offerings (technical, professional, soft skills) using a variety of methods (online, classroom, coaching).

  • Strong presentation, organization, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
