Director of Children's Services

Site/Program: ROADS
Location: Brooklyn, NY

What You’ll Do

As Director of Children’s Services with HELP R.O.A.D.S., you’ll lead the Children’s Room at the Brooklyn Family Justice Center (FJC) and help children ages 3 and up who have witnessed or been victims of domestic, intimate partner, or gender-based violence.  You’ll manage a team of three clinicians and a coordinator providing crisis intervention, educational activities, and on-going individual and family therapy sessions while parents receive services from other FJC providers (e.g.: District Attorney, NYPD, case management, etc). 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct supervision to all program team members including conducting weekly supervision meetings and providing (or otherwise obtaining) training and development programs to enhance team skills.

  • Providing crisis intervention and other direct services and holding a small case load as needed.

  • Coordinating community education and outreach so that the FJC is truly part of the community and liaising with other FJC partners.

  • Ensuring program compliance with all agency, funder, and government requirements; operation within approved budget limits; and submission of required reports on a timely basis.

You’re a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Relevant experience (at least four years) in the field of domestic violence/intimate partner violence/gender-based violence, including work with children.

  • Supervisory experience (at least two years).

  • Master’s Degree in social work (and an LMSW would be even better).

It would be helpful (but not required) if you:

  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish), as many of our clients are native Spanish speakers
