Careers at HELP USA

At HELP USA, we work to ensure that everyone has a place to call home.  From our beginning in 1986 as a shelter for families in Brooklyn, we've expanded to become a national leader in the fight against homelessness.  We're one of the nation's largest homeless services providers and low-income housing developers serving at-risk populations including families, individuals, veterans, survivors of domestic violence, people with physical and mental health challenges and disabilities, and seniors.  we've helped over 500,000 people facing homelessness and poverty to build better lives.

We envision a world where safe and stable housing is a starting point for everyone, because housing is the foundation for people to build better lives.

We hope you'll join our team and be part of making our vision a reality!

Recruiter

Site/Program: Central
Location: New York, NY

What You’ll Do

Use your recruiting skills to help people experiencing homelessness!

As a Recruiter with HELP USA, you’ll be part of a small team responsible for full cycle recruiting for our homeless shelters and homelessness prevention programs throughout New York City.  We’re restructuring our recruiting processes, and we’re looking for an energetic recruiter interested in playing a key role in change implementation.  You’ll consult with Hiring Managers, identify and interview potential candidates, schedule and follow up Hiring Manager interviews, extend offers, and maintain candidate contact from offer acceptance through start date.

This is a remote position, requiring east coast/EST working hours, with an occasional day in the office (post Covid) if you live in the metro NYC area.

You’re a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Commitment to our mission of helping people experiencing homelessness.

  • Experience (at least a year, ideally more) with in-house, high-volume recruiting working primarily with non-exempt roles.

  • Experience using an ATS to thoroughly document position and candidate records so that all stakeholders are fully informed. (We use ClearCompany, but experience with any ATS is fine).

  • Credibility and personal presence to build strong, trusting relationships with Hiring Managers and candidates.

  • Ability to take initiative, make decisions, handle multiple priorities concurrently, and follow up on details.

It would be helpful (but not required) if you have:

  • Experience working with a non-profit organization.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (But relevant work experience is a great alternative).

We Have GREAT BENEFITS!

  • Health insurance through Cigna, including dental and vision, with an option that covers entire family with NO employee contribution.

  • Generous Paid Time Off!

  • 401k with Company contribution even if employee doesn't contribute.

  • And More!
